Citizen journalist Zhang Zhan has been jailed since May 2020 after filming and reporting on the COVID-19 pandemic from Wuhan. Chinese human-rights lawyer, Gao Zhisheng, who has long defended activists and the civil rights of religious minorities, has been “disappeared” since 2017.

Why did China and Chinese Communist Party leader Xi Jinping make Jack Ma, founder of Alibaba, disappear, and block a $300 billion IPO of Xi Jinping?
It turns out Jack Ma had a dirty secret—Ant Financial had major investors tied to a political faction within the Communist Party of China tied to former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin. He was the guy responsible for genocide against Falun Gong, aka Falun Dafa, and is locked in a deadly battle for power with Xi Jinping. Crime doesn’t Alipay…
“Any future trade negotiation to open China’s financial market is an illusion”
He might be detained by China’s Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, the enforcement institution of the CCP.
Jack Ma, the richest man in China and founder of Alibaba, oddly vanished from public view for nearly three months only to reappear recently on a homemade video, promising “to meet again after the pandemic is over.”
This indicates that, unlike other less fortunate wealthy businessmen, Ma is safe for the time being.
Chinese leader Xi Jinping has commanded the regime’s military to focus on “preparing for war,” as Beijing looks to make a splash in 2021—the year marking the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
In the first order of the year, Xi instructed the forces to ratchet up military training. As chairman of the regime’s Central Military Commission (CMC), Xi is head of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA), the CCP’s armed forces.
He ordered the PLA to “focus on preparing for war, deepen the transformation of military training, build a new type of military training system, and comprehensively improve the level of combat training and ability to win,” according to Chinese state media Xinhua.
The order follows the CCP’s escalation of military confrontations in several areas last year, including on the India-China border, the Taiwan Strait, and the South China Sea.
The World Health Organisation has refused to release the names of doctors who blocked an early bid to declare coronavirus a global health emergency. A Sky News Australia investigation has revealed a group of WHO doctors debated whether to declare the deadly coronavirus global emergency in late January but those who wanted to implement strict travel restrictions were outvoted and instead, the body released a glowing statement praising China, followed by a recommendation for countries not to ban travel to China.
“The Committee does not recommend any travel or trade restriction based on the current information available,” the WHO wrote on January 30 at a time when confirmed cases had already reached 12,167 in China and the virus had killed 170 people. Two days prior to that meeting in Geneva, WHO general manager Tedros Adhanom was photographed happily shaking hands with China’s leader Xi Jinping.
- Xi reportedly agreed last year to allow a compliance department of executives chosen by the US to be embedded into the company to monitor the flow of every transaction – and ZTE has to pay
- For Washington, enforcement of any agreement is the key, but Beijing views the US demands as reminiscent of China’s historical humiliations at the hands of Western powers
