China SUSPENDS NK Cross-border Freight Trains Due To Covid
Beijing’s Foreign Ministry has cut freight rail services between Dandong and North Korea’s Sinuiju – following “friendly consultation” with Pyongyang due to Covid cases detected on the Chinese side of the border.
Yonhap news agency claims Dandong authorities were acting upon the request of North Korea – which has still not officially recorded a single coronavirus case.
Dandong has reported 220 infections between April 24-27, leading to 77 residential compounds being locked down.
