Propaganda campaigns boost Xi Jinping ahead of 20th Party Congress:
The CCP’s Central Propaganda Department and the State Administration of Radio, Film, and Television jointly released new guiding “opinions” on managing professional behavior and social activities of broadcasters and anchors, who were described as an “important force in the party’s propaganda.”
The guidelines emphasized that media representatives’ primary task was “cultivating political quality” and called upon broadcasting agencies to formulate rules that limit the social activities of their employees. It also called on announcers and hosts to purify their “social circle” and “friends circle.”
